Toronto based Juno Award Winning drummer/percussionist, Max Senitt, has been creating rhythms for longer than he can remember. With more than 30 years of drumming under his belt, he has racked up an impressive amount of invaluable musical experience, performing at clubs, concert halls and prestigious festivals around the world. Highly in demand on the local and international scene, he maintains a busy freelance career playing a wide range of musical styles with many highly acclaimed Juno and Grammy Award winning artists, including Alex Cuba, Josh Groban, Kiran Ahluwalia, Donne Roberts, Hilario Duran, and Carol Welsman. As an educator Max teaches privately, is a faculty member at Centennial College, has conducted master-classes both locally and abroad, and has written numerous published articles for Canadian Musician Magazine and Drums Etc Magazine, the later of which he was also featured on the cover of the December 2014 issue. Most recently Max has been kept busy on Toronto’s vibrant Global Music scene as a member of Moneka Arabic Jazz band, founding member of WAPAMA, and has been performing with musicians from Cuba, Brazil, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Uruguay, Turkey, Iraq, Sudan, Serbia, Mozambique, Ghana, Algeria, Mexico, Chile, Peru, Ethiopia, South Africa, Haiti, Philippines, Tanzania, Italy, Greece, Israel, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Poland. Max’s own World Jazz group, which he has been leading since 2004, have performed at many of the cities top venues and festivals, and several times in Chile. Furthermore, a self proclaimed eternal student, Max is also presently studying South Indian rhythmic concepts with world renowned master percussionist, professor Trichy Sankaran.
